For years, the Fruit Logistica trade fair in Berlin has been setting the direction for development in the fruit and vegetable sector. Why is blueberry weighing precision so important?

One of the biggest challenges in the berry industry is overfilling. Every extra gram in a package means giving away product for free, which translates into tangible losses over the course of a season. Our calculations show that by reducing overfill by 2–3 g per punnet, packing companies can save up to approx. EUR 70,000 in a single season.

The G3 Evolution has been designed with maximum accuracy in mind – an average precision of around 2 grams per punnet places it among the very top solutions on the market. At the same time, the machine effectively minimizes the risk of underweight packages, which is crucial for maintaining good relationships with retail chains.

What, besides weighing accuracy, distinguishes the G3?

At the peak of the season, not only precision matters, but also processing speed. The 16-head version of the G3 Evolution enables packing of up to 250 punnets per minute while maintaining high accuracy. Features such as partial cycles help ensure production continuity even with irregular fruit supply, and the optional denester further reduces the need for manual labor.

One of the greatest advantages of the G3 Evolution is its so-called hygienic design. The machine’s construction has been simplified and refined for daily cleaning. Easy access to key components, the ability to quickly disassemble them without tools, and the use of moisture-resistant materials—stainless steel and silicone—significantly reduce cleaning time. In practice, this means less downtime and more time dedicated to production.

The third distinguishing feature of the G3 Evolution is its gentle handling of the product, which is especially important for touch-sensitive berry fruits. Silicone curtains, pads in the weigh hoppers, reduced height differences, and rounded edges of the construction help minimize fruit damage, reduce juice leakage and contamination, and improve the quality of the final product. Importantly, the machine is not limited to blueberries only—it can also handle other fruits and vegetables, as well as frozen products. A wide range of supported packaging types further increases its versatility.
