Seasonality in the blueberry industry is characterised by an enormous intensity of work during the harvest months. For large companies such as ELLIOT, with several growers and two packing facilities, the volume of responsibilities requires not only good organisation, but above all reliable technology that can be counted on at the peak of the season. The main challenge faced by the Group’s decision-makers was maximising packing efficiency and ensuring low line downtime. Technical issues can bring processes to a halt for several days at a time – and during the season, that translates into measurable financial losses.

The company operates two packing facilities. Each runs a packing line composed of machines from various manufacturers; however, in both facilities ELLIOT Group chose to rely on our weighers. The weighing machine is the heart of the blueberry line – it determines the speed of the entire process and is responsible for any potential package overweights. In 2020 and 2021, we supplied ELLIOT Group with two G2 Evolution 16-head weighers. These highest-capacity blueberry packing machines can operate at speeds of up to 250 packages per minute, while maintaining packing accuracy to a single berry (approx. 2–3 g). Additionally, in 2026 we added a Revolution XL tray sealer to one of the facilities. The client’s choice fell on this particular tray sealer because its operating speed is compatible with that of the weigher – enabling all packages to be sealed without creating a bottleneck in the process.

In 2025, the two lines allowed ELLIOT Group to fully capitalise on the potential of the blueberry season and significantly increase the efficiency of the packing process. The machines supplied by Milbor PMC proved capable of operating reliably even under very high loads. In the case of the Evolution range weighers, packing speed and accuracy go hand in hand, delivering the best possible financial results for the investor. Replacing the sealer with the Revolution XL guaranteed the client process repeatability, zero downtime and predictable order fulfilment in applications where buyers require packaging sealed with shrink film.

The Evolution series weighers are simply the best blueberry weighers on the market. They pack quickly, with great precision, are gentle on the fruit, and are virtually fault-free. Their parameters and consistent performance give us the confidence to take on even the most demanding orders. A significant step in improving our packing efficiency was replacing the tray sealer with the Revolution XL. The previous machine broke down frequently, which repeatedly disrupted our plans and caused unnecessary stress among the staff. Thanks to the investment in the sealer from Milbor PMC, we gained full control over the packing process.
