Borówka Świętokrzyska

This association of 6 blueberry growers from the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship collectively manages approximately 100 hectares of plantations and operates 2 sorting facilities, where the fruit is packed and shipped to customers. Thanks to their cooperation, the group has a large volume of fruit of a consistent standard, which allows them to meet the requirements of retail chains.

  • What were the challenges?

    The entrepreneurs had blueberry packing equipment; however, its low throughput did not allow them to handle larger orders and fully take advantage of the short blueberry season. To move to the next business level, Borówka Świętokrzyska needed a new weigher that packs faster and more accurately than the current machine.

  • What did we do?

    Representatives of Borówka Świętokrzyska first made contact with Milbor PMC at an industry trade fair in Berlin. The decision to invest in the G2 Evolution weigher was also preceded by study visits to other farms, where the investors could see firsthand how the blueberry packing line operates in practice. Today, this customer operates two of our G2 Evolution weighers: a 10-head and a 6-head model. The machines have been integrated with the other elements of the packing lines already used by the client.

  • What was the result?

    We installed the first 10-head weigher at Borówka Świętokrzyska in 2019. Thanks to this investment, the group increased its daily production (during 12-hour shifts) from 2 to 6 tons, a 300% increase. The smaller weigher increased production capacity on the second line to 4 tons per day. This means that by switching to G2 Evolution weighers, Borówka Świętokrzyska is now able to pack 1.5 truckloads of fruit per day, while also saving money by reducing overfilling.
