The family-owned farm boasts a centuries-old tradition of fruit cultivation and 90 hectares of plantations where, among other things, apples, plums, sloes, and cherries grow. Currently, the company also offers sorting and storage services for smaller growers.
One of the trends observed in the German market is the growing preference for larger, recyclable packaging. The Hauschildt family also noticed this tendency. However, the plum weigher they were using did not allow them to pack fruit in packages larger than 1 kg. Moreover, the existing machine was not gentle enough with the fruit, causing some plums to lose quality and become unsuitable for sale.
In response to the challenges faced by the Hauschildt farm, we supplied a 10-head G2 Evolution weigher, which can load plums into large cardboard baskets with a capacity of up to 1.8 kg. Additionally, the packing machine is very gentle on the fruit, so it does not damage the plums, thus preventing losses for the client. We supplied the weigher together with two hoppers onto which workers place the loose fruit. These three elements were integrated with the other devices in the line by our team.
Thanks to the G2 weigher, the Hauschildt farm aligns with current trends by offering large plum packages. The automation of packing allows the company to compete for new orders without the need to hire additional workers or generate new costs.
